Queen for a Day
My dad's mom was a cool lady. Her name was Sara Edna. She carried the nickname "Jake" as a kid and "Bubber" (pronounced "Bubba") after she bore children. She had 3 husbands, outliving each of them. She had a business, volunteered with the VFW auxiliary and veterans hospital, and was socially active. She even played the drums in a band called The Drifters. Here she looks like a participant on the old TV Show, "Queen for the Day." The photo is unmarked, but I'm guessing she's dressed up to attend some Veterans' Mardi Gras Ball and was elected their Queen.
