"U429/99. John H. Lowin (51), who delivers Drouin's mail, has a letter for Mrs. Leslie Allison from her Air Force husband. The postman is World War I veteran, has a son prisoner of war in Malaya. He walks 40 miles a week for one delivery daily six days a week. 250 of the letters he takes round each week are from the war fronts.
